About This Trip:

This program to the remote Yi village in Lijiang takes students on an adventure trip through some of China”s most stunning natural scenery, on hikes and bike rides designed specifically for students. We also dive into Yunnan’s rich culture, meeting local people and taking part in interactive cultural workshops.

There are 26 different minorities live in mountains and valleys; there are hundreds kind of rhododendrons and wild flowers; there are towns, villages, local markets and temples; there is a different China. This is Yunnan, a plateau hide in the south of the cloud. Lying just south of the lofty Tibet-Qinghai Plateau and filled with snowcapped mountains and deep river gorges, the region possesses some of China’s most beautiful and dramatic scenery. Day 1 Arrive in Lijiang

Take the flight to Lijiang. On arrival, be picked up by our English speaking tour guide . Then drive about 2 hours to Boduolo Village. You will have a welcome dinner for your coming to Yunnan.

Day 2 Lijiang

Today, you will visit this local Yi Minority Village. Then you will herd sheep, help poor family to look for firewood in the mountain, and dig ditches.

Day 3 Lijiang

Today you will help local people to dig Chinese herbal medicine and dig potatoes. After that, spend 1 hour to teach the local people to speak English.

Day 4 Lijiang Cycling

This morning, you will have 2 hours for shopping. Then you will start your cyclling from Lijiang Old Town to Lashihai Lake. Lashihai Lake, a nature reserve rich in biodiversity. Then surround the Lashihai Lake for further cycling. The endangered black necked crane can be seen here. The Naxi and Yi minorities live in this area. You will loop around the lake beginning on paved road which leads us through Naxi villages.

After lunch in Lashihai , go on your cycling tour to Baisha Old Town.

Day 5 Tiger Leaping Gorge Trekking

Get up in the early morning, drive to visit and trek around upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area because you can find gold in the river.

Then drive to Bendiwan. You will trek from Bendiwan to Tina’s Guest house passing a small but high waterfall on the way. The trekking is about 2-3 hours.

In the late afternoon, transfer back to Lijiang.

Day 6 Lijiang-Jianchuan-Lijiang

Get up in the early morning, drive to Shaxi(2 hours’ driving). Visit the Shibaoshan Mountain(about 3 hours sightseeing).
After lunch, drive back to Lijiang(you will arrive in Lijiang at about 4:00 pm). Learn to make embroidery from local master in Baisha Old Town. Tonight, you will experience a Bonfire Party with Naxi Minority People. You can join their dancing group and enjoy an unforgettable night.
